Strands - Our breakout sessions are organized by the following strands: back to top
This strand examines the issues, ideas, and best practices of interest to or with implications for the higher education enterprise, not specific to a particular institution. Special emphasis is on partnerships and consortia, as well as system, regional, state, national, and international activities and other topics beyond the campus level.
This strand reflects the current hot topics, new applications, and technology services that are becoming pivotal to teaching and learning. It explores the how and why new technologies provide both opportunities and challenges to distance and distributed education.
This strand focuses on the needs of faculty and those who support faculty. The goal is to explore how e-learning improves the teaching and learning experiences via enhanced student-learning outcomes, increased student engagement, or more efficient or lower cost offerings.
This strand focuses on the broad aspects of distance learning that span the entire institution. Some of these aspects drive institutional decision making. Other aspects may dictate institutional actions based on external requirements. Topics that cross over multiple strands are included in this category.
This strand focuses on best practices in supporting students enrolled in distance-learning courses and programs. Faculty, student, and administrative perspectives on services provided to students are considered.
